Hosting institutions selected for the IV ECG International Conference (2026)

The ECOnGOOD Science & Research Hub is pleased to announce the results of the selection process for the hosting institutions of the IV Economy for the Common Good International Conference (ECG IC), scheduled for 2026.

Following a thorough evaluation, the selection committee has chosen a consortium led by the Ostbayerische Technische Hochschule Amberg-Weiden (OTH AW) in Amberg, Germany, in partnership with the University of West Bohemia in the Czech Republic and the Bavarian Center for Sustainability in Higher Education (BayZeN)  in Germany.

The committee assessed the consortium’s proposal as the strongest, not only for fully meeting all required criteria but also for offering additional strengths, including its international dimension and the strong public, academic, and nonprofit sector engagement of its members. The organization of the conference will be coordinated by a Steering Committee composed of:

  • Clemens Bulitta (OTH AW)
  • Christiane Hellbach (OTH AW)
  •  Laura Völkl (OTH AW)
  • Dita Hommerová (University of West Bohemia)
  • Lara Luetke-Spatz (BayZeN)
  • Christian Felber (ECOnGOOD)
  • José-Carlos Ramos (ECOnGOOD)

A first kick-off meeting was held in Amberg last week, during which an intense and productive working session laid the foundations for the conference planning (see picture with some of the participants). The official conference website will be launched by early June, providing detailed information about the event, which will take place in spring 2026.

We look forward to welcoming the ECG community to this important milestone!
