The Spanish Federation for the Economy for the Common Good (ECOnGOOD) extends an open invitation to its annual gathering, which will take place from 22 to 24 November this year in Valencia, designated as the Spanish Capital of Social Economy 2024. This event is shaping up to be a unique platform to explore and promote a more sustainable economy centred on the common good.

Under the theme “Social Economy for a Sustainable Future,” the gathering will bring together thought leaders, organisations, and activists committed to building a fairer and more balanced economic model. The event, held in Spanish, will feature the participation of Economy for the Common Good founder Christian Felber and Emilio Sampedro, president of Concoval (the representative entity of all Valencian cooperatives), along with other prominent figures from the academic, political, and social spheres that will significantly enhance its profile and impact. Additionally, there are pending confirmations from several distinguished guests, including Yolanda Díaz, Vice-President of the Spanish Government and Minister of Labor and Social Economy; Ruth Merino, Vice-President of the Valencian regional government and Minister of Economy and Finance; and María José Catalá, mayor of Valencia.

The event transcends Spanish borders, acquiring an Ibero-American scope with the participation of associations from Argentina, Chile, Colombia, and Uruguay. Key topics to be addressed include real sustainability versus “greenwashing,” collaboration between different actors in the Social Economy, and how these alternative economic models can generate positive changes in society. Organisations such as REAS, SANNAS, Wellbeing Economy Alliance, Cáritas, and Intermon Oxfam will also be present, enriching the dialogue with their unique perspectives.

This gathering is open to all: businesses, municipalities, educational entities, and citizens interested in building a more humane and sustainable economy. Do not to miss this opportunity to be part of a movement that is redefining the future of the economy and society!

Stay tuned for upcoming updates in the Spanish Federation’s website, where they will share the complete programme with all the presentations, roundtables, and activities. They look forward to welcoming attendees in Valencia to be part of this exciting event!
