The Faith Organisations Hub is responsible for coordinating ECG activities in the realm of faith organisations and their institutions, thereby enhancing ECG’s visibility within these communities.

The hub functions as an umbrella for working groups and subhubs that focus on specific religious groups. It expressly affirms ECG’s cooperation with all religions and faith communities. These groups can then utilise their contacts and specialised knowledge to disseminate the ECG concept within their respective spheres.

Structure

The German-speaking working group ‘Churches and Church Organisations’ is an integral part of the hub, boasting 100 active members across the GSA region (Germany, Austria and Switzerland) and additional contacts in Italy. The group convenes twice annually: a two-day spring meeting (held both in person and via Zoom) and an autumn meeting (conducted via Zoom).

As a hub catering to all faith-based organisations, it aims to support the establishment of additional working groups or sub-hubs as required.

What we do:

  • Coordinate and promote ECG activities in religious organisations
  • Develop expertise in ECG balancing for religious institutions by collating all available information and publications, as well as connecting those involved in the movement with staff from the institutions
  • Develop target group-specific information materials (e.g. leaflets and presentations)
  • Internationalise previous activities
  • Facilitate interfaith dialogue
  • Act as a point of contact and mediator for enquiries from interested institutions (including those with balance sheets) and from all parts of our movement
  • Plan activities at major denominational events to ensure the visibility of ECG

Coordination

The current coordinating members of the Faith Hub are Bendix Balke, Kirsten Huettner and Oliver Koch. Please contact us via religion@econgood.org. You may also receive our German information via email. Translated materials (in English or Spanish) are available upon request.

We cordially invite ECG activists who are eager to raise awareness of ECG within religious communities to join our efforts!
