Early bird registrations are open for the Next Economies Forum happening in April of 2027 in Egypt. Workshops, community gathering, networking and sessions with amazing key note speakers will unite us in action to co-create a different path for economic systems. This event is part of journey that started back in 2024 with the International Prosumer Economy Conference that happened in Istambul, where 21 partners left the gathering with the common goal of a ecological and socially just economy. For the following year, the number of partners grew to 63 and for NEF27 there are already 80 partners and ECOnGOOD is proud to be one of them.
The Forum will be at Heliopolis University for Sustainable Development and those who are actively trying to create just economies in their lives, communities, and businesses by expanding and unfolding human potential and development are encouraged to join. “We realize that change grows stronger when we learn from each other and act together. We seek to create coherence among all actors in this convening space and in the broader ecosystem for a holistic transformation of the economic system that includes the culture and the mindset”, shares the conference’s team.
3 main purposes are guiding the Forum:
- Serve for the systemic economic transformation rooted in ecological and social justice.
- Facilitates the building of a more coherent and aligned movement across the broader “next economies” field.
- Acts as a catalyst for applied and shared outcomes—collaborative structures, projects, strategies, and commitments—that extend well beyond the event.
NEF27 will also offer partner organizations, networks, and communities the opportunity to host their own gatherings, open or private, on the campus of Heliopolis University, embedded within the forum. Partners can host your annual meeting, chapter convening, or just a team retreat in a living ecosystem of aquaponics, botanical gardens, and practitioners who have built what many of us are still imagining. If you lead or belong to a community that would benefit from gathering here, register your interest at nef@turetim.org
Hans Stegeman is the first keynote speaker confirmed for NEF27. With decades of experience in economics, finance, and public policy, Hans has become one of Europe’s leading voices on post-growth economics and sustainable finance. His work challenges the idea that endless economic growth is the only path to prosperity, advocating instead for economic systems that promote well-being, social equity, and environmental resilience. He will share his insights on rethinking economic systems, redefining the role of finance, and building resilient economies that work for both people and the planet.
Early Registrations are now open for The Next Economies Forum (NEF) 2027 and online participation will also be available. Check nexteconomies.net for more details.
