A strong regional response confirms the potential of peer learning in Latin America

Following the extensive implementation of the ECOnGOOD Peer approach in Europe, the first call for applications in Latin America demonstrated significant regional interest and, once again, confirmed the relevance of this methodology.

Over 70 applications were received from 11 countries across the region, including organisations, consultants and trainee consultants interested in taking part in the pilot process.

  • 28 organisations applied to take part in the peer-learning process and draw up their Common Good Balance Sheet.
  • 15 consultants expressed an interest in supporting the organisations throughout the process.
  • 28 trainee consultants applied to receive training and participate in the implementation of the methodology.

These applications came from Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Mexico, Peru, Dominican Republic and Venezuela, reflecting the regional scope and relevance of the call.

The participating organisations represent a diverse ecosystem of SMEs, impact-driven start-ups, non-profit organisations, cooperatives and purpose-driven companies. Many of them expressed an interest in strengthening their social and environmental impact, improving their management practices and becoming part of a regional network committed to advancing the Economy for the Common Good.

The call also highlighted a strong interest in developing consultancy skills in the region. Both consultants and trainees expressed a high level of motivation to participate and contribute to the expansion of the methodology in Latin America.

The training and refresher courses on the Common Good Matrix 5.2. for organisations, lead and trainee consultants are to take place throughout June and July 2026, to successfully establish a common language and strengthen the skills needed for collaboration before entering the fieldwork stage.  After successful completion, organisations will draw up their Common Good Balance Sheet through the peer-learning process and with the support of the consultants.

Finally, during October and November, the collective evaluation of the process will take place for the first time in Latin America within the LATAM Peer Group. This experience will mark the launch of a new space for organisational strengthening based on the principles of the Economy for the Common Good, peer learning and collective intelligence.

The level of engagement proves Latin America offers fertile ground for the implementation and expansion of the ECG Peer methodology, with a committed community of organisations and professionals willing to promote a more ethical, sustainable and Common Good-oriented economy.
