The regional ECOnGOOD Association in Baden-Württemberg reached a significant milestone with its largest summit to date, gathering 120 participants from business, politics, and civil society at Holzmanufaktur Rottweil. The two-day event, themed “Transformation through Responsibility,” showcased the growing influence of the Economy for the Common Good (ECG) in the region, with over 100 companies now certified in Baden-Württemberg alone.

A highlight of the summit was the presentation of their ECOnGOOD certificates to 24 companies at the impressive height of 220 meters in Rottweil’s elevator test tower. The event featured notable speakers including founder Christian Felber, who emphasized the importance of replacing GDP with a Common Good Product that measures what truly matters in life.

Professor André Reichel from the Stuttgart International School of Management delivered a compelling presentation on climate change urgency, while Green Party state parliament member Norbert Knopf brought promising news about potential future state funding for ECG initiatives. The summit provided numerous opportunities for networking, workshops, and discussions about practical implementation of ECG principles.

ECG Baden-Württemberg board members Peter Jakobeit and Uli Fellmeth celebrated the event’s success, describing it as a landmark moment not just for the region but for the entire movement. The summit demonstrated the growing momentum of this alternative economic approach that prioritizes human dignity, solidarity, ecological sustainability, and transparency.
