The ECOnGOOD International Federation was founded on 29th September 2018 as the umbrella organisation of the international ECOnGOOD organisation (previously known as the Economy for the Common Good movement). It is a non-profit association under German law headquartered in Hamburg.

Only ECOnGOOD national associations are admitted as full members.

Organisational structure

The ECOnGOOD Management Team (EMT) is the operational decision-making body and consists of the following:

The Federation Members Council (FMC) is the Members Assembly and parliament of the International Federation (IF). 

Each country may send one representative to FMC meetings, the members have different number of votes according      to their membership. Supporting members are permitted but they do not have the right to vote. FMC meetings take place 4 times a year (in-person or online).

Fundraising

The International Federation for the Economy for the Common Good e.V. (ECOnGOOD) is recognised as a non-profit association. In Germany, donations and membership fees are tax deductible.

Ethical principles and transparency

Instead of developing new principles, we propose that the ECG organizations will always adapt the newest version of the ‘International Statement of Ethical Principles in Fundraising’ (current version). This statement is supported by the leading fundraising network of 17 national fundraising associations from across Europe. We provide information on donations received and the use of funds in our annual reports.

The “Major Donors Circle” was founded in 2022 to have a greater impact in the achievement of our common goals.

The one-day working meeting was initiated by Christian Felber     
in 2021 and is aimed at people who are able and willing to
financially support the professionalisation and stabilisation
of the ECG. Exclusively invited are the most important
supporters (private donors, entrepreneurs, foundation representatives)
of the International Federation and since 2022 also of
Switzerland and the German Association.

The kick-off meeting took place on 12-14 July 2021 at Schloss Morstein at the invitation of Martin Hubschneider, CAS Software AG.
At the meeting, a letter campaign for member recruitment and donation acquisition in the personal environment and for all ECG associations was designed.
In addition, the idea of an ECG gala to honour particularly outstanding GWÖ companies from 2022 was developed.
The event will take place for the first time as the “GWÖ Summit 2022” on 26 November at the “Landgut Stober”.

This year’s Major Donors Day took place on June 24 at the invitation of Michael Stober at the “Landgut Stober” near Berlin. It was a valuable and inspiring meeting and a great pleasure for all to get to know each other and have the opportunity to network. This one-day meeting was initiated by Christian Felber in 2021 and is aimed at individuals able and willing to financially support the ECG.

This year the main supporters (private donors, entrepreneurs, foundation representatives) of the International Federation, Switzerland and the German Association were invited. In the shade of the trees, despite the heat, original ideas for the financial support of the ECG emerged. The central outcome is the foundation of the “Major Donors Circle” that is to have a greater impact in the achievement of our common goals.

The general conclusion of the gathering was: “The ECG has existed for 12 years and successfully completed its start-up phase. Now it is time to stabilise and professionalise the movement, to grow and to have greater international impact. We are sure that we can successfully implement the next development step together”.

From 12-14 May 2023, the 3rd Major Donors Meeting took place at the invitation of Heinrich Kronbichler, WBS TRAINING AG at the LebensGut Pommritz in Hochkirch near Bautzen.
The Donors Circle founded last year was consolidated and now comprises 15 people.
The “One Million Movement” was launched to strengthen the ECG financially in the long term, which is due to start as a prototype in Germany in autumn 2023.

New international projects that require funding must be accepted
by the PPM team. PPM stands for Project Portfolio Management and is a
standing working group on behalf of the ECOnGOOD Management Team (EMT).
It is responsible for qualifying projects and services that require
international resources and funding.
